Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

Federal Financial Aid Programs – Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

  • Need-based grant
  • Campus-based aid program; not all colleges participate – Funds for the SEOG grant are allocated to colleges from the federal government. Not all colleges participate in this program and funds are limited.
  • Undergraduate students with the most financial need are given priority.
  • Grant must be awarded to the students with exceptional need so priority is given to those students who receive Pell grant awards. Because the funds are limited you may not receive this grant even if you receive a Pell grant. So, make sure you file the FAFSA as early as you can.
  • SEOG grants are limited to $4,000 per year
